The Task
Show how Pacific Power ”powers the greatness” of its communities and customers as it rolls out new metering technology across Oregon that enables customers to better track their energy usage, and helps communities experience shorter power outages.
The Idea
Make the technology meaningful to the rural communities by promoting key new benefits and sharing stories of local customers. Highlight the first community to install smart meters, highlighting their smart, rural achievements. Develop community partnerships and events that amplify impact, outreach, and authenticity.
The Outcome
Created a new model for media and community outreach that is steadily increasing JD Powers customer satisfaction ratings, and will be utilized for future rollouts.
