The Task

Introduce Japanese homebuilder, Suteki, to the U.S. market, highlighting the company’s unique cross-cultural and sustainable design using Northwest-grown and Japanese woods.

The Idea

Leverage the cache of world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma, who designed Suteki’s first U.S. home, to tell the story of the company’s design philosophies. Provide unique access to Kuma, with an opportunity to interview the architect together with Suteki Group CEO Koichiro Hirata.

The Outcome

Suteki swiftly secured its place in the Portland homebuilding market, backed by noteworthy coverage by design outlets including DWELL and Dezeen, as well as prominent Portland outlets, including The Oregonian and Portland Monthly magazine. The home placed top honors at the 2017 Street of Dreams.
